In Kharkiv region, over the past ten weeks of the epidemic season, 10 people have died from coronavirus, marking the highest rate in Ukraine.
This was reported by the director of the regional center for disease control and prevention, Lyubov Makhota, to "Suspilne Kharkiv", as conveyed by "Dumka".
"Among the deceased, 70% were individuals over 65 years old. All the deceased had comorbidities such as exacerbations of chronic diseases and complications related to the cardiovascular, nervous, gastrointestinal, and endocrine systems, which significantly worsens the clinical course of COVID," Makhota explained.
According to Makhota, in the 50th week of the epidemic season, 36 COVID cases were registered in the region, totaling 1136 since the beginning of the epidemic season.
"During the same period of the previous epidemic season, there were 41 registered deaths from COVID," added the director of the regional center for disease control and prevention.
