За неделю в Харьковской области в результате пожаров погибли шесть человек, сообщили в ГСЧС.

In the past week, 59 fires occurred in the Kharkiv region, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and injuries to two others.

This was reported during a briefing at the Official Media Center of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration by the acting spokesperson of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region, Dmitry Chaika, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the rescuer, during the previous week, 59 fires were registered in the Kharkiv region, five of which were linked to combat operations. As a result of these fires, six people lost their lives and two were injured.

A domestic fire broke out in the village of Lyhivka in the Berestivskyi district on December 12. The blaze was reportedly caused by careless handling of fire. A 57-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man died in the incident.

On December 14, a domestic fire in a single-story apartment-type house in the village of Krasna Volna in the Kupiansk district claimed the life of a 64-year-old woman. The area affected by the fire was 70 square meters.

"Given the increase in the number of domestic fires, I urge all residents to adhere to fire safety regulations. The most common causes of domestic fires are careless handling of fire, violations of fire safety rules during the operation of heating systems, and overloading electrical networks. Dear parents, never leave children alone when electrical or gas appliances are in use," the rescuer added.

Additionally, there are currently 34 pyrotechnic units operating in the Kharkiv region—181 sappers and 74 units of equipment from the combined detachment of the State Emergency Service, including six mechanized demining vehicles.

In the past week, demining specialists conducted 218 operations, during which they discovered and neutralized 548 enemy munitions. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, the sappers of the State Emergency Service have destroyed 107,868 explosive items.

According to Chaika, a high degree of mine danger is observed in the de-occupied territories of the Kharkiv region. During the full-scale aggression by Russian occupiers, 95 people have died due to explosions involving explosive items, and another 260 have sustained varying degrees of injuries.
