A resident of the Kharkiv region was killed in the war after being caught in a mortar shelling.

A resident of the village of Artelnoe in the Kharkiv region, Andrei Polishchuk, was killed in the war.

This was reported by the Telegram channel "LozonaNews," as conveyed by "Dumka."

It is noted that the soldier was born on June 22, 1993. He graduated from school in 2010 and in 2017 completed his studies at the Kharkiv Economic and Law University, majoring in "Law," and received the qualification of "Bachelor of Law." Subsequently, he became a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).

In 2015, he was awarded a certificate for successfully completing assigned service and combat tasks as part of the Forces and Means of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and later received the badge of the Chief of the General Staff of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Exemplary Military Service" of III degree.

Later, on November 14, 2024, Polishchuk was mobilized to military unit A0536. His comrades recount that "he was a great guy, smart, and an altogether reasonable person who really wanted to fight."

However, on December 8, near Shypylivka in the Severodonetsk district of Luhansk region, the senior soldier was caught in a mortar attack and lost his life. The 31-year-old soldier is survived by his mother, an eight-year-old son named Dmytro, and a daughter, Polina, who will turn three on December 21.

"It's hard to find words of comfort, as it's impossible to heal the pain and sorrow from losing a loved one. May the soul of the deceased find eternal peace... Eternal memory and respect to the hero!" - reads the message from the community.
