In Kharkiv, a domestic abuser faces up to two years in prison, according to police reports.

Police have reported a suspicion against a Kharkiv resident who evaded participation in a program for offenders.

This information comes from the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, as reported by "Dumka".

According to the police, throughout 2024, a 63-year-old man repeatedly committed physical and psychological violence against his 59-year-old wife.

He used foul language towards her, threatened physical harm, and at times even resorted to physical force.

For the systematic commission of domestic violence, the court assigned the man to complete a series of activities aimed at changing his violent behavior. However, the offender has been avoiding participation in the program.

He now faces up to two years of restriction of freedom.
