In Kharkiv, a driver has been held accountable for causing an accident while under the influence of alcohol.

According to police, late last night, around 1 AM, patrol officers received a call about an accident on 23rd August Street. The man lost control and crashed into a barrier and a curb.

During their conversation, the inspectors noticed signs of alcohol intoxication in the driver. He agreed to undergo a sobriety test.

The sobriety check was conducted using a Dräger device, which showed a result of 3.47 promille, more than 17 times the legal limit. The driver acknowledged the results of the examination.

The patrol officers removed the driver from operating the vehicle and drew up administrative protocols against him for Article 124 (Traffic violation resulting in an accident), part 1 of Article 130 (Driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol), and an administrative ruling under part 1 of Article 126 (Driving a vehicle without the necessary documents for operating a vehicle) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
