Kharkiv police have submitted materials to the court regarding a man who was found in possession of psychotropic substances.
This information was provided by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, as reported by "Dumka".
According to the police, they were informed that an individual was storing a substance resembling a narcotic. An investigative and operational group was dispatched to verify the claim.
Police officers at the scene discovered and seized a zip bag containing a white powdery substance from the man.
The offender turned out to be a 40-year-old resident of Kharkiv with a criminal record.
The seized narcotic substances were sent for expert analysis. According to the experts' findings, the substance in question was identified as a prohibited psychotropic drug.
In connection with this matter, investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 309 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or mailing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs without the intent to sell) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The penalty for this article includes imprisonment for up to 3 years.
The materials of the criminal proceedings have been forwarded to the court by law enforcement authorities.
