They discussed:
- current developments regarding Point 8 of President Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula;
- water supply in Ukraine;
- preparation and participation of Ukraine in COP29 in Baku.
“I shared with the ambassador my impressions of the Ukrainian delegation's trip to Finland and the current work within Point 8 of Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula, which serves as a significant platform for consolidating the efforts of various countries. This point can be utilized not only for calculating losses and the payment of reparations to Ukraine but also for establishing international principles of recovery based on green standards,” noted Svitlana Hrynchuk.
According to her, the Ministry of Environment, with the support of partners, can become a driving force for implementing the principles of green recovery based on Point 8. It is essential to understand that this effort is not solely for Ukraine but serves as an example for the entire global community. Our experience in assessing and quantifying environmental damage and holding Russia accountable for ecological crimes should become a global asset.

“We also specifically addressed the preparations for the Climate Summit COP29. Ukraine's priority today is access to financing for climate adaptation measures, particularly from the Green Climate Fund. This is a crucial component of the implementation of the Paris Agreement, which provides access to climate financing according to the needs of countries. The needs of post-war Ukraine for climate financing cannot be overstated. Therefore, support from partners like the United Kingdom is more relevant than ever,” emphasized Svitlana Hrynchuk.
