In the Kharkiv region, a man stumbled upon a dangerous discovery in a wooded area.

Recently, a local resident of Valkivshchyna reported to the "102" hotline about a found item in a protective forest belt that resembled an AKS-74 assault rifle.

As reported by "Dumka", this information was shared by the communications department of the Main Department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

The police explained to the caller the conditions for declaring weapons. However, upon inspection of the firearm, law enforcement determined that its technical specifications did not meet the standards required for registration.

The citizen voluntarily handed over the weapon to the police, which allowed him to avoid criminal liability for illegal possession of firearms.

To declare a weapon, you need to have a set of documents: a written application; passport; identification code; a copy of your residence registration; a photo sized 3.5x4.5.

Specialists from the licensing service will inspect the weapon, register it, and issue the owner a relevant document confirming the declaration of the weapon. After the declaration procedure, the police return the weapon to the declarant.
