The body of a deceased fisherman has been found in the Kharkiv region.
This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to rescuers, on December 22, it became known that a 25-year-old resident of the Sonino village in the Velykoburluk community had gone missing.
The man went fishing at a local pond in the morning and did not return by evening.
The water body was covered with ice; however, due to fluctuations in the surrounding temperature, it had not gained sufficient strength, noted the emergency service personnel.
Today, December 24, divers from the Kharkiv Regional Communal Emergency Rescue Diving Service retrieved the body of the drowned man from the water.
"We urge citizens to adhere to personal safety rules on frozen water bodies. Currently, the ice cover is too thin and brittle, making it dangerous for life to walk on it," the rescuers emphasized.
