In Kharkiv, police have held a local resident accountable for committing domestic violence against his mother.

This was reported by the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the police, the offender verbally abused the 76-year-old woman while under the influence of alcohol.

The 53-year-old aggressor has been issued an administrative protocol under Article 173-2 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

Officers from the domestic violence prevention sector conducted a preventive discussion with the man and warned him about the criminal liability in case of repeated domestic violence incidents.

Police urge individuals not to ignore instances of domestic violence and to contact hotline 102 for assistance and to hold offenders accountable.
