In Kharkiv, the police intervened to stop a case of domestic violence, where a man was verbally abusing his partner and threatening her with physical harm.
This information was reported by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to law enforcement officials, a 42-year-old woman contacted the police. The frightened resident requested assistance to protect her from her husband.
Police officers from the domestic violence prevention unit responded to the call.
Upon arrival at the apartment, the officers found a 38-year-old man who was intoxicated. The offender displayed aggressive behavior, verbally abused the woman, and threatened her with physical harm.
The police compiled an administrative protocol against the man under Part 1 of Article 173-2 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and issued an urgent restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim in any way for a period of 3 days.
The woman and her minor daughter were transported by police in a service vehicle to the Center for Assistance to Victims of Violence, where she received temporary shelter.
